Another podium for Dudu Barrichello. This time at Laguna Seca, proudly supported by Coinspaid.
P2 in GTD at Laguna Seca
Our blockchain ambassador Eduardo “Dudu” Barrichello and the Heart of Racing Team finished P2 in the GTD class at the IMSA Monterey SportsCar Championship at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
For the team, it was their first podium at this track. For us, it was a special weekend to witness up close and support from the ground.
Tom Gamble, Dudu’s teammate, was racing at Laguna Seca for the first time. Barrichello qualified third in the GTD class, and he and Gamble ran inside the top three for the duration of the race before finishing second. It marked another standout podium in Dudu’s rookie IMSA season.
It was a lovely day, really. We started off the weekend struggling a lot in FP1, and I think the whole team did a great job of getting us into the window. Tom did an amazing job, and I’m proud of how I drove, too. We’re back on the podium, which is really good. Four races, three podium finishes are pretty good. I’m really happy with the result. Obviously, we wanted a win, but every single race we’re just closer and closer to the win.
More than a race result
F1 legend Rubens Barrichello was there watching his son practice, qualifying and the race. That is the kind of moment that sits outside the results sheet. Family showing up for the people they believe in added something to the weekend that is hard to quantify.
The Coinspaid team joined Dudu for a track walk before the race. The corners look different when you are standing in them, you get a sense of what the drivers are actually managing out there, which does not come through on a broadcast.
On the ground the whole weekend
The Coinspaid team was present for the full race weekend. We supported the event and brought the Coinspaid brand to Laguna Seca in a way we had never done before: from trackside branding to key venue locations, Coinspaid became part of the weekend’s visual identity.
